According to the Google's Android developers report, the android users are classified according to their platforms and their distribution is released on their official site.

Based on the report, Cupcake (Android 1.5), which comes under the API Level 3 contributes to the third minimum where the new Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0, 4.0.2, 4.0.3) uses the API Level of 14 and 15 improves their ranking to second lowest with in few days after their release.

Among the entire list Android versions 2.3 - 2.3.7 Gingerbread tops in the distribution with 54.9 % for (Android 2.3.3 - 2.3.7) and Android 2.2 Froyo holds the second maximum distribution with 30.4%.

As per the distribution, Ice Cream Sandwich is having a good future in the android market.

Google's Android crosses 10 Billion App Downloads and prices down to 10¢ each

After the 10 billion downloads of the android applications from Google Android market, in July it crossed only 6Billion downloads, now it reaches 10 billion, nearly a billion downloads per month. There are nearly 190 Million android devices are available on the market. we can calculate nearly 53 apps installed on each android device which was 46 per device in July. In comparison with the Apple iOS, users downloaded nearly 83 apps per device in 2011.

To celebrate this milestone, Google supports its partner application for the next ten days to start the price from 10Cents.
